Lord Shinkwin talks in kwaNzimakwe

Forty parents from the tribal authority of KwaNzimakwe came to hear British Lord, Baron Kevin Shinkwin talk on disability and equality and to share their own stories about living with a disability.

BAron Shinkwin is a British Conservative politician and member of the House of Lords., and Since becoming a peer, he has focused on charity governance and disability equality issues.

The non-profit organisation, Siyakwazi in KwaNzimakwe invited Lord Shinkwin to be the guest speaker at their new resource centre.

The event was titled ‘Sinezwi’ or ‘we have a voice’.

Siyakwazi provides support to children within rural communities of the Ugu district, no matter what their disability, learning problem or circumstances may be, by helping them to unlock their full potential and overcome any barriers preventing success.
