BREAKING: Offroad biker airlifted to hospital

The nature of his injuries meant he needed specialised care.

Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on a dirt road off the R61 in Marina Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast.

According to Netcare 911, the reports from the scene indicate that the man on the bike, aged 29, allegedly drove into the back of a light delivery vehicle.

He was assessed on scene by an advanced life support paramedic and found to have sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the bakkie escaped injury.

The Netcare 911 airlifts the biker to hospital.

The biker required advanced life support intervention to stabilise him.

“Due to the nature of his injuries the Netcare 5 specialised helicopter ambulance was activated to airlift him to a specialist hospital for further treatment,” said a Netcare 911 spokesman.
