Looking back on South Coast history, 1991 to 2000: June 16 to 17
There was some grim news this week but three rescued seals and a shoal of sardines did something to alleviate the situation.
The IFP leader visited the area.
June 16
1995

But there’s one thing guaranteed to raise South Coasters’ spirits. “Sardines – a pocket up to 500m wide and a kilometre long- were seen close inshore in front of Shelly Beach Ski-boat Club on Tuesday.”
“Local clinics have heeded the call of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health to embark on a mass polio immunisation campaign.”
