Blood donors help save lives

The hospital thanks donors for their life-saving gift of blood.

In acknowledgement of International Blood Donation Day,  Hibiscus Hospital in conjunction with the South African National Blood Service recently held a blood and donation drive at their new day hospital.

The hospital challenged all businesses and individuals to show their support by giving a pint of blood on the day and donating non-perishable food items, drinking water and blankets.

All donated items will be distributed by the folk from Round Table Margate 46 to those that have been affected by the recent floods and the ongoing water crisis.

Spokesman for the hospital, Mariette Venter thanked donors for their life-saving gift of blood. “These donations of blood ensure that communities have access to an affordable and timely supply of safe and quality-assured blood and blood products,” she said.
