UPDATE:
IT has now been confirmed that the driver of the vehicle shot at in yesterday’s drive-by shooting in Scottburgh’s central business district has died.
The driver of the vehicle had been travelling along with two passengers, one adolescent male and a female in the back seat.
“It is alleged that a driver, believed to be in his 30s, stopped opposite a fuel station in Scott Street. A vehicle suddenly pulled over next to him and opened fire on him,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.
The driver of the vehicle had been shot multiple times and later succumbed to his injuries. The front passenger had sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.
The female passenger escaped unharmed.
Scottburgh Saps are investigating charges of murder and attempted murder.
ORIGINAL STORY, AUGUST 21 at 5.46pm:
TWO people travelling in a car along Scott Street shortly before 5pm today were shot at multiple times by people travelling in an as yet unidentified vehicle.
Scottburgh Saps is currently at the scene of the shooting where two men have sustained serious injuries.

It is understood that both of the men are in a very serious condition and have been transported to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.
