Scottburgh’s water park may be back on track
The plans were brought to a halt when the developers were murdered.
THE killers of Amazon Valley Water Park developers Peter and Joan Meyer were sentenced to life in prison by the Gauteng High Court on Monday this week.
They were found guilty of a string of murders, including the Meyer’s.

On November 27, 2015, the Meyers were visited by Zak Valentine, Marinda Steyn and Marcel Steyn under the pretense of them assisting the couple financially with their business.
Valentine and the Steyns were led to believe that the couple had kept ‘millions of rands’ in cash on their property.
When no money was found, the couple was shot dead by Marinda.
Now, it appears that plans for the largest water park in Africa are set to be revived as soon as the couple’s estate is finalised.
It was previously reported that the Meyer’s children would continue their parent’s legacy and forge ahead with the construction of the water park.
The plans for the park, mooted for a site adjacent to Happy Wanderers caravan park, were first unveiled in 2015.
Plans for the park included 23 family slides, tube rides and wave riders. Some of the slides would be a first for South Africa.
Provision was also made for restaurants, eight take-away franchises, a children’s play park, an animal farm, canopy tours, lodge accommodation, venues for weddings and other functions as well as 80 sites for caravans.
Durban Metrorail was also expected to stop on the park’s doorstep and there would be parking for at least 500 cars.
