Port Shepstone Islamic School’s U15 team, recipients of the ‘sportsmanship’ award in their category, did well to make to the finals of the AMS KZN Boys’ Volleyball tournament last Saturday.
The Albersville Astro Arena was abuzz as schools belonging to the Association of Muslim Schools arrived.

The tournament catered for players in various age categories. Orient Islamic School emerged triumphant in all divisions.
Gr 8 pupil and U15 captain Abdul Baasiet Ahmed claimed the ‘best setter’ award in his division.
Sports coordinator Mohamed Zuber Khan and his team are thanked for their sterling effort in the smooth running of the event.
The AMS Elocution was held at Muhammed Ebrahim Islamic School in Durban.
The school was represented by Hafsa Kadwa (gr 1) for poetry recital, Muhammed Seedat (gr 2) for story telling and Wardah Ally (gr 3) for speech rendition.
Pupils benefited from the exposure and experience of the contest. Foundation Phase teachers are thanked for their assistance.
