Jackie McDaniel (Catholic Women’s League president) said she felt uplifted to be part of this special occasion and truly blessed to belong to such an amazing group of women.

“Our branch was started 60 years ago by nine dedicated women, one being Norma Cominos, the actual founder member of our league who has always given of herself way above and beyond the call of duty.”

From humble beginnings the league has raised funds for both small and large projects in the community, in particular, the building of the church hall, assisting parishioners with compassionate work such as funeral and catering and parish functions. Members of the women’s league are currently concentrating on three projects being hospice and AIDS care for the poor and vulnerable, a kitchen feeding scheme and assisting Father Andrew Pierzynski, the parish priest.
