Pastor Reggie John of Bread of Heaven said the organisation’s core value is feeding children in schools.

“We supply sandwiches to hundreds of needy and indigent children daily, and this annual fun run and walk helps raise most of the funds required,” explained Pastor John.

The 10km run for ambassadors and the 5km family walk for the public drew a sizeable number of people, who were keen to raise money for a very worthy cause.

Each ambassador runner had to raise a minimum of R500 for Bread of Heaven to participate in the event.

A family fun day took place after the fun run/walk. In addition to several stalls, fun items such as face painting and games were offered. At the time of going to print, the amount of money raised by the ambassadors had yet to be finalised, but organisers are confident that the fund-raiser was a tremendous success.
