Last Sunday, Southport crime prevention members in conjunction with Ugu Cluster OCC officers were conducting patrols in the area when they came across an LDV, which was parked in a loading zone, in Kwa Madlala.

Ugu OCC officers were deployed to Harding when the team received information regarding a suspected stolen vehicle, with an ND registration.

“The taxi was stopped, and upon further investigation, it was established that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Montclair, Durban. A man (27) and a woman (37) were charged and appeared in the Harding Magistrate’s Court. The case was postponed for further investigation,” said Capt Mpinge.

Deputy Cluster Commander, Brigadier Bongani Sibiya was pleased that the deployment of officers had resulted in the recovery of stolen vehicles and a greater police presence.
