SMMEs recognised at awards ceremony
SmartXchange, Port Shepstone scooped awards in all the categories and proved themselves worthy against their Durban counterparts.
The SmartXchange Media, Information Communication Technology and electronics (MICTe) business incubator celebrated its annual small, medium and micro enterprises (SMME) awards at Durban Country Club recently.

The event honours the achievements of SMMEs as well as recognising those who have completed the three-year incubation period and are ready to graduate. Councillor Bongumusa Mkhize of the eThekwini Municipality as well as the executive head of Vodacom Business, Eleni Kwinana were the keynote speakers.
Both guest speakers reinforced their commitment toward SmartXchange and its developmental programmes in the incubation ecosystem.
SmartXchange Port Shepstone also graduated six of their SMMEs which have completed the three-year incubation programme.
The latter part of the event was dedicated to SMMEs which excelled in terms of revenue, job creation and innovation within their businesses. It was a proud moment for SmartXchange, Port Shepstone when they scooped awards in all the categories and proved themselves worthy of recognition against their Durban counterparts.
