Last Friday was Black Friday and there was a general excited buzz about all the special deals that were on offer. This week offered up ‘Black Tuesday’ (December 3) – no water and no electricity in Port Edward.

Some areas have not had water in weeks and there is one excuse after the other from Ugu. The situation is a disgrace.

It’s getting closer to that time of the year when annual general meetings take place. It is important for the community to know in-depth what organisations do and to meet the volunteers who give of their time for the benefit of our community.

1 Leisure Bay Ratepayers’ Association: Tuesday, December 17 at 5pm;

2 Leisure Bay Conservancy: immediately after the ratepayers’ meeting and both will be held at the Civic Centre at the top of Fisherman’s Drive, with a braai afterwards, hosted by the ratepayers.

3 Leisure Bay Neighborhood Watch: Thursday, December 19 at 5pm at TO Strand resort.

Make a date to visit the morning market at Port Edward Methodist Church this Saturday (7th) and December 21 from 8am to 12 noon.

Come and enjoy breakfast, pancakes, tea and coffee and browse art, crafts, and lots more. A perfect opportunity to buy those last-minute Christmas presents.

Cascade Estate’s market day held last Saturday was a great success. The weather was perfect and the many people who visited the market from all over the South Coast really enjoyed it.

‘The Treehuggers’ walking group held its Christmas party at Bellevue Estate in Ramsgate. Sally Booker was a congenial hostess and about 30 members tucked into delicious picnic food and walked around the lovely estate.
