Two young South Coast friends have turned their lemonade sales into a R700 donation to Cinderella Animal Rescue. Hayleigh Stanton (13) of Scottburgh and Evie du Plessis (9) of Widenham set up lemonade stands at Scottburgh High School during CMCA cricket practice and again on Sunday in Scottburgh.
The friends initially hoped to raise money for new cricket gear and their shared love of squishy toys. But once their profits began to climb, they decided to put the money towards a cause close to their hearts. As they are animal lovers, Hayleigh and Evie chose to donate their earnings to Cinderella Animal Rescue on the South Coast. The girls hope their efforts will encourage others to do something similar, with so many animals in need of care and support. Even a small fundraising project can make a difference.
