Hibberdene Happenings: Bheki and Bongi move on
Bheki Mpunzana has faithfully led the Sunday worship for many years.
The Methodist Church held an extremely successful jumble sale last Saturday, during which a fantastic amount of R12 000 was realised. All those who supported the sale, whether by donating goods or buying, are sincerely thanked.
New Methodist minister, Annelie Mey (nee Kotze) will conduct her first service at Hibberdene this coming Sunday and all congregants are urged to attend. It will take the form of a carol service and as tea will be served afterwards, all women are encouraged to take along a plate of eats.

The congregation will also bid farewell to the church’s much-loved worship steward Bheki Mpunzana, who has faithfully led the Sunday worship for many years. This is a huge loss for the church and Bheki and his wife Bongi will be sorely missed.

Have you submitted your name to attend the ‘men’s breakfast with a difference’ this Saturday, December 7, at 7am? Wives and partners are invited to accompany their men and single women are most welcome to attend.
If you have not already replied, please do so with Debbie at 039 6992948 as soon as possible as numbers are limited. Entrance is R30 for men and women pay a donation. There will be no breakfast next month as most activities are in recess until February.
Pop in
Lions’ Christmas cakes are on sale at a nominal fee and may be purchased from Salon Marguerite or at the clinic, also on a Wednesday morning.
These cakes are delicious, keep well and make an excellent gift or investment for the Festive Season.
Whilst the eye and dental clinics are in recess until February, the second-hand shop is running from the clinic itself on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Pop along and see what bargains can be found. There is something for everybody.

Your scribe sincerely thanks all who have donated plastic bread sealers recently. It takes an awful lot of sealers to fund a wheelchair, so every donation, no matter how small, is always welcome. Sealers may be left at the clinic on a Wednesday morning.
Best wishes go to Linda Kent and Sandra Smith Enticott, both of whom underwent cataract operations recently. It is hoped they recover well, with no complications. School closes today and all pupils and staff members are wished a very happy time, whether staying at home or travelling. Drive safely and stay alert at all times.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Ferdi Smith (5th), Sarie Botes and Ronnie Williams (6th), Barry McDonald (8th), Santa Hanekom (9th) and Kobus Oosthuizen (10th).
