A six-year-old boy burnt to death in a house fire in Malangeni.
The child and his aunt awoke to smoke and fire in the room.
“The woman tried to rescue the child but was unable to save him,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

Sergeant Senzo Chiliza and Constable Phumlani Shange of Umzinto Saps alerted Umdoni Disaster Management, Fire and Rescue and Umzinto Emergency Medical Services, and the blaze was extinguished.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, and the case is being investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Rajesh Maharaj.
