Another ANC member murdered

At the time of his death, he was a task team member of the David Soboyiso branch in Gamalakhe's ward 28.

The ANC Lower South Coast is in mourning after the murder of one of its members, Goodwill ‘Gee’ Rakapola last Saturday.

According to a statement released by the party, the 31-year-old died after being attacked in Gamalakhe.

The regional task team coordinator of the ANC Lower South Coast branch, Xolani Luthuli described Mr Rakapola as a dedicated and committed member, who gave much of his time to serving the movement.

“His contribution to serving his community was well known. He was an accomplished student activist and a senior national working committee member of the Cosas National Executive.”

Mr Luthuli added that Mr Rakapola had also served as part of the Young Communist’s League district leadership where he encouraged young students.

At the time of his death, he was a task team member of the David Soboyiso branch in Gamalakhe’s ward 28.

At the time of going to press, official comment was awaited from the police.
