Bhangra beats make for a phenomenal party
The music, combined with a fabulous supper, was a one-of-a-kind cultural experience.
It was Bhangra party time at Kapenta Bay Resort and Conference Hotel recently.
The aptly titled ‘Bhangra Fusion Party’ featured Durban’s top deejays, Nichal Sarawan, Dizzy D and Suraj S.

The music, combined with a fabulous supper, was a one-of-a-kind cultural experience and a treat for guests.
Vanessa Kalicharan, a guest at the party said it’s not a celebration unless there is dancing. “Nothing beats dancing to the pulsating beats of the dhol (a double-sided Indian drum, particularly popular in Punjab). The music has rhythmic beats, which entices you onto the dancefloor.”
It’s not unusual to hear bhangra music emanating from Kapenta Bay Resort and Conference Hotel. The venue has held a couple of bhangra sessions in the past and has more events planned for the future.
