Men in blue bring home gold
Warrant officer Porra da Rosa and Sergeant Mark Banjo of SAPS Port Shepstone Search and Rescue members received awards in the Vispol team of the year category.
Ugu Cluster excelled at the SAPS Provincial Excellence Awards held at Durban ICC recently.
Among the many outstanding officers who were recognised were members of Margate SAPS, including Sergeant Anesh Dawlat, who was awarded sportsman of the year.

Vispol employee of the year (at salary level 5-7) was Sergeant Anele Moni.
Colonel Bheka Nala, acting station commander of Margate, accepted the awards on behalf of Brigadier William Slabbert for best station in the province, best station commander at brigadier level, and best senior operational manager.

Port Shepstone SAPS received best station in case docket management and Scottburgh senior administration clerk, Stephen Naidoo, was awarded person with a disability award.
Warrant Officer Herman Pienaar of Hibberdene detectives was awarded best investigator, and the best task team went to Scottburgh detectives.
