Child (4) drowns in Scottburgh lagoon
Please make sure children are well supervised when they are at the beach or swimming pool.
Tragedy struck at Scottburgh’s main beach yesterday (Thursday) when despite the best efforts of first responders, a four-year-old boy was declared dead after being pulled from the lagoon.
Reports from the scene indicate that beachgoers spotted the child floating in the water. They alerted the lifeguards, who began CPR.
Upon their arrival, Netcare 911 medics took over and a full advanced life support resuscitation was initiated.
The child’s condition however deteriorated and he was declared dead at the scene.
