Women’s World Day of Prayer turns 90

More than 100 women from nine denominations came together at the Methodist Church in Port Edward.

The 90th anniversary of the Women’s World Day of Prayer was celebrated all along the South Coast on Friday last week, with services including all Christian denominations.

In Port Edward, more than 100 women from nine different denominations came together at the Methodist Church. The service was led by Marietjie Grobler.

A special birthday cake was baked and every woman received a scarf to honour the women of Zimbabwe who compiled this year’s programme.

In Margate, some 80 women from three denominations gathered for a service led by Reverend Lerisa Meyer.
