With most events having been either postponed or cancelled, life in Hibberdene is on the quiet side, to say the least. At least we have water. Grateful thanks to those who worked hard to restore the flow of water to Hibberdene last week – it certainly makes a difference.

The long-postponed eye clinic was eventually able to take place last Wednesday, thanks to there being no load-shedding. It was quite a relief, as some of the patients had been waiting for up to three months for an appointment.
Mizpah Church’s men’s breakfast was held last Saturday and the men present enjoyed it immensely. The next breakfast, hopefully to take place on April 18, will be the church’s 100th breakfast. Wives will be most welcome and hopefully the milestone celebration will go ahead with no postponements or hassles. Contact Edgar Lilje at 084 5820772 for more information.
Considering the circumstances, Jill Bylett’s funeral held in the Methodist church last Friday was relatively well attended. Jill has left an unforgettable legacy and will be sadly missed by many. Deepest sympathy goes to her son and daughter Austin and Tina, her grandchildren and her many friends.
Condolences are also extended to Doris Rodd of Mtwalume, whose husband Richard died early last Sunday morning. Richard had been ill for some time and he will also leave a void for his many friends and loved ones. Continue to remember Ruth Smith in your thoughts and prayers. She remains in hospital after suffering a stroke and is not doing too well.

Heather and Curly McDuling celebrate an anniversary on March 27th, while Joan and Louis Nortjé celebrate their 61st on the 28th. Everyone’s favourite lady Thelma Naudé from Mtwalume, enjoyed a really festive 95th birthday celebration last Wednesday. Birthday wishes this week go to Brian Taylor (26th), Johan van den Berg (28th), Carike Oosthuizen (29th), Jeanette Burger and Rita Perreira (30th) and Sarel Bradbury (31st).
Don’t forget to keep Lizzie busy with all things Hibberdene.
