Tweni Talk: Intruders make off with beer

Umtentweni was hit by a wave of crime last weekend.

But thanks to the quick response from Sarel van der Merwe of Lazer 911 and Port Shepstone Saps, the thieves did not get away with much more than a few beers.

Later, an alert neighbour looked out her window when the dogs were barking and saw people on her neighbour’s roof.

She was not sure of the exact address, which caused a bit of delay for security, but thanks are extended to the Saps for attending that as well.

Others have had intruders in their yards.

Please ensure your house number is clearly visible from the road.

If it means scrounging around in the garage for paint – or even using the children’s paint – just make sure the number is there in big writing.

A huge bouquet to Anria Wolfenden of Southport who made 120 masks to hand out to security personnel.

Each mask carried a note in her words ‘this mask was made with care, to hopefully take care of you while you take care of us’.
