Self-care summit in Pennington inspires women
Attendees were reminded that self-care is about far more than being pampered.
KZN women recently came together for a day dedicated to connection, well-being, and inspiration.
This was made possible by the Scottfin Revive Selfcare Summit 2026 at Umdoni Point Sports & Leisure in Pennington on August 29.
The summit was built around the theme “Reconnect, Reignite, Rise” and created an immersive experience where women could move, learn, laugh, connect, reflect, and experience practical approaches to wellbeing.
Local women leaders, wellness professionals, entrepreneurs, and creatives came together, alongside special guest Rachel Kolisi, whose fireside conversation was the highlight of the day.
Also, award-winning chef Kayla-Ann Osborn conducted an interactive cooking demo.
For founder Laverne De Jager, the summit represents the continued development of a much broader coastal self-care movement.
“When women are permitted to pause, something changes. They connect differently, they speak more openly, they laugh, they learn from one another, and they remember that they matter too,” explained Laverne.
“Rachel Kolisi brought such authenticity and warmth to the day, but what stood out to me was that she didn’t position herself above anyone in the room. She shared her story, her challenges and her perspective in a way that created connection.”
Summit attendee Davenee Govender said the overall experience was a reminder that self-care is about far more than being pampered, and that it was wonderful to be surrounded by women from different walks of life.
