Amadiba Crisis Committee rolls out hand sanitiser

The roll-out followed four information meetings about the coronavirus (Covid-19) in the villages from March 19 to 23.

The Amadiba Crisis Committee has made a concerted effort to distribute hand sanitisers and protective masks to villages (including Xolobeni) on the Amadiba coast in Mbizana, Eastern Cape.

The ACC will try to cover the whole of Amadiba, provided it can get the necessary support.

The committee thanked various donors and The Middleman shop in Port Edward.

“The owner has followed the rule not to increase prices or profiteer from this crisis, but to make a contribution to the national effort,” said spokesman Nonhle Mbuthuma.

The roll-out followed four information meetings about the coronavirus (Covid-19) in the villages from March 19 to 23.

Hand sanitisers were distributed to two clinics last week, namely Amadiba and Mgungu clinics.

“If our brave nurses in Amadiba get sick, the whole community is in deep trouble. They have to be protected at all costs,” said Nonhle.

“We learned from the past that HIV/Aids badly affected rural areas due in part to a lack of information. Sometimes this information gets stuck in the suburbs and that is why ACC does not want history to be repeated.”
