Izingolweni benefits from generosity of Kaizer Motaung JR Foundation
Kaizer Motaung Jr and his foundation members drove down from Johannesburg with a truck and four double-cab vehicles laden with food parcels.
Kaizer Motaung JR Foundation and KwaMthimude Traditional Authority recently joined hands to donate food parcels and soccer kits to the community of ward 5 at Izingolweni, in rural KwaZulu-Natal. Two boreholes were also pledged.
The community outreach was led by Kaizer Motaung Junior, under the banner of his Kaizer Moutaung JR Foundation. Mr Motaung is the youngest son of Kaizer Motaung, founder of Kaizer Chiefs FC, one of the top PSL soccer clubs in South Africa.
On Thursday last week, Mr Motaung Jr and his foundation members drove down from Johannesburg with a truck and four double-cab vehicles laden with food parcels. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the KwaMthimude chief, Themba Mavundla and his first lady, MaMhlongo Mavundla, together with the indunas.
“We are very grateful for the donation of essentials such as food parcels, sanitisers, masks, sanitary pads, bath soap and toothpaste. You have also committed to fund boreholes for my community and we thank you so much for your kindness and care,” said Chief Mavundla.
The handover took place at Buntu Abande Community Care Centre, founded by Mpande Foundation. This center was an initiative of the Jama family who fund-raised to ensure its establishment few years ago. Chief Mavundla said about 60 young people were currently employed at this centre.
“All of them were previously unemployed. Now they make masks, sanitary pads, bath soap and sanitisers. We want this center to grow into a fully fledged production firm by 2021 and employ 150 people.”
“We are here to give back to the community,” said Mr Motaung Jr. “We love you. You are the reason we have grown to be who we are today. We are here to say thank you for supporting us.”
