Security officer thwarts break-in at Marburg transport company
The suspects fled, and the officer continued to conduct patrols throughout the night to ensure that that the premises and staff remained safe.
A private security officer has been praised for his quick response which ensured that the plans of two suspects to break in to a Marburg transport company’s premises were thwarted.
The Fidelity ADT Security Monitoring Centre received a panic alarm activation from a Berg Road transport company and immediately dispatched Armed Response Officer (ARO), Wycliffe Hendricks who arrived at the premises within two minutes.

On arrival, ARO Hendricks met with the security guard on the premises who informed him that he had seen two suspects in the yard attempting to break in to the building. ARO Hendricks investigated, soon spotted the suspects and gave chase. Both suspects managed to escape and no-one was injured.
“I congratulate ARO Hendricks for his quick response, bravery and commitment. Officer Hendricks continued to conduct patrols throughout the night to ensure that the suspects did not return and that the premises and staff remained safe,” said Fidelity ADT’s District Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Vaughan Pillay.
