South Coast Dis-Chem confirms staff member has tested positive for Covid-19

In accordance with occupational health and safety guidelines, the store has announced that it will close temporarily.

Southcoast Mall has been advised by Dis-Chem that one of its employees has tested positive for Covid-19.

As a result, and in accordance with occupational health and safety guidelines, the store has announced that it will temporarily close until such time as its relevant Covid-19 response protocols (in compliance with the regulations published in respect of the Disaster Management Act) have been completed.

According to the Southcoast Mall’s Facebook page the store has reported the case to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) and the Department of Health.

Centre management and Dis-Chem will work with government and health officials to assess when the store can be reopened, said the post, adding that “the health and safety of  customers, tenants and employees remains, at all times, our top priority.”

The Herald contacted the Southcoast Mall for comment, and was referred to Dis-Chem head office. The newspaper was unable to reach the office for comment.
