An operation by police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit on the South Coast recently resulted in a number of arrests.
Two men were arrested for being in possession of a large quantity of drugs with an estimated street value of R106 000.
They both made their first court appearance on Thursday, August 27.

A 30-year-old man arrested in Murchison re-appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court on September 2.
During the operation, he was found in possession of 2 092 capsules of heroin and 300 tablets of mandrax.

A search also revealed the suspect was in possession of two unlicensed pistols with 241 rounds of ammunition.
It was later established that he had previously been arrested for possession of dagga, robbery, attempted murder and assault.
The investigation also revealed that the firearms had been stolen in Margate in 2009 and 2016.
A 32-year-old man was arrested in Margate in possession of 400 capsules of heroin and 20 tablets of mandrax.
He appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court on September 4.

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula commended the team for the recovery of the drugs and firearms.
