Body found in Pennington river

The body of a woman was found in the Nkomba River in Pennington on the morning of August 31.

Scottburgh police had been alerted to an abandoned vehicle near the river and it was while they were searching for the driver that they came across the body.

“Paramedics declared the elderly woman dead at the scene,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

The case is being investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Vis Moodley of Scottburgh Detective Service.
