TS Galaxy announces top-flight club sale

Former Mamelodi Sundown defender Thabo Nthenthe will serve the team as the manager after retiring from professional football.

TS Galaxy has announced that it has officially acquired Highlands Park premier league status. The Rockets indicated that they had reached an agreement with the Lions’ owners, opened by former agent Tim Sukazi. After selling their national first division (NFD) status back to former Cape Town All-Stars owner Lunga Ncwana, the team will now relocate to Mpumalanga next season.

TS Galaxy football club is now proud to announce the acquisition of the status of premiership division club, Highlands Park FC. The decision was reached after a lengthy and delicate discussion, whereby there was a mutual agreement between the two parties. The parties will now see the TS Galaxy campaign in the premier division of South African football in the upcoming 2020/2021 season.

The move has resulted in the sale of TS Galaxy’s NFD status to its former holders, Cape Town All-Stars.

According to the club’s official statement, some critical changes in the team’s technical department were necessary for their attempt to develop a team into a highly competitive side. Some of the main changes include making Daniel Masela take charge of the team.

Former Mamelodi Sundown defender Thabo Nthenthe will also serve the team as the manager after retiring from professional football. The team is excited about the return of Dan “Dance” Malesela, who will serve as the club’s head coach. Malesela’s accomplishments with TS Galaxy are well documented, and Betway SA soccer betting enthusiasts hope his contribution will change the team’s fortunes. “Dance” led the team to its historic Nedbank triumph, a win that made TS Galaxy the only club to win South Africa’s FA cup from the lower ranks.

Another technical change will see Mabhuti Khenyeza shifting focus to the development structures of the club as the head coach of the Multichoice Disk Challenge (MDC) side. In the team management sector, veteran defender Thabo Nthenthe, who signed with the club last season, will serve as the team manager. Nthenthe was the captain in the previous professional match where TS Galaxy won against the Uthongathi Football club during their last game of the season.

TS Galaxy will use Mbombela stadium as their home ground, as their current home stadium doesn’t meet the required standards of hosting PSL fixtures.

As the only team to the Mpumalanga province playing in the premiership, the Rockets will make use of the iconic Mbombela stadium as their home stadium for the upcoming season.

Nonetheless, Betway will offer odds on all their fixtures. The decision was reached after the unavailability of the club’s traditional home base. Kameelrivier stadium does not meet the standards of hosting premiership fixtures as prescribed by the NSL rules. The composition of the team for the next season will be made known by the club soon. All the professional players in the PSL team and the head coach will move over to the new owners. However, all the MDC and youth players will remain with Highlands Park and compete in amateur leagues. With these young players, Highlands Park will rebuild for the future.
