Port Shepstone ladies enjoy Regency-era elegance at golf day
There's been a lot of golf on the go.
In a scene most worthy of Lady Whistledown’s praise, 52 ladies gathered for an enchanting Bridgerton-themed ladies’ open day where Regency-era elegance met the fresh delight of friendly golf.
This was at Port Shepstone Country Club on July 23, where Jane Lind, Stienie Janse van Rensburg, Ilse Steyn and Louise Snyman scored 86 points to claim the spoils.
Runners-up were Rina Rito, Linda Hall, Elize Reichel and Falan du Bois on 85 points.
In third place were Jeanette Peyios, Augustine D’Ewes, Val Volck and Lan Yeadon on 82 points, counting out Wendy Freese, Cath Albertyn, Thando Sakhela and Thanda Zama.
Rounding out the top five were Sandi Burger, Bernadette Briglin, Zelda Menne and Kim Strauss, counting out Jenny Brewis, Glynnes Westerdale, Heather Wicks and Vars Pillay.
The Wednesday competition was won by Ian Mitchell on 39 points, by one from Theo van Rooyen.
The Hibiscus Coast Electrical Fowl Friday was won by Piet Snyman on 18 points.
Gavin van Wyk had 17 points, with Org Nieuwoud, Don Richards and Theo van Rooyen all on 16 points.
Saturday’s competition was won by George Bowie and Don Vermuelen on 45 points, with Ian Stewart and Frans Smit in second place on 41 points, counting out Terry Kotze and Thys Blom.
The Wozani Par 3 Challenge, sponsored by Wozani Berg Gasoline, played on July 26 was won by Johann Janse van Rensburg and Matt Streicher on 43 points, counting out Eddie Bense and Matt Borchers.
In third place were Leon le Roux and Sashen Govender on 40.75 points, followed by Guy and Jean Osborne on 39 points.
