Lift up your head, for your redeemer is near.
Life is tough and seems to be getting tougher every day, for many folk.
Being a Christian is not necessarily a ticket to a life of prosperity or comfort.
It can be that at times – usually when God blesses you to bless others.
But for many, it’s about a daily grind. Sometimes it can be almost overwhelming.
At times like these it’s good to remember or read the Psalms, especially Psalm 27.
Many were written by David, a man who faced many perilous situations in his life.
There were times he felt alone and terrified.
Yet he wrote: ‘The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?
In verse 2 he writes: ‘When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall’.
