New frontiers for Singatha graduates
Amongst those in attendance were Ugu Mayor Sizwe Ngcobo and KZN MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs Ravi Pillay.
The Sinagtha ICT Rapid Incubator and Esayidi Centre for Entrepreneurship held its graduation ceremony for the class of 2021 at the Margate Hotel last week.
The graduation mood was slightly sombre as the class had enrolled 16 students, with only 15 graduating after the tragic loss one of the students last year in an accident.
The students were enrolled in an 18 month incubation programme which involved trainings, workshops, mentorship and coaching from experts in the ICT and business field.

Amongst those in attendance were Ugu Mayor Sizwe Ngcobo and KZN MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs Ravi Pillay.
“I had a meeting today with the youth leaders in the district, and they said they would like to have a meeting with the ICT leaders. We would like to thank the ICT department for seeing that it is necessary to support young people, especially in business,” said Mayor Ngcobo.
“There are many things that have happened such the Covid-19 pandemic and we just to see our young people especially in this district, to come up and create opportunities,” he added.
Pearl Shusha who was one of the graduates in attendance, gave a few words on behalf of her classmates,
“Looking back, at first our entrepreneurial dreams seemed like chasing the wind. But with the right business support and guidance, workshops and trainings, we are now here, on graduation day.”
