Senior citizens show off sporting talent at Ugu District Golden Games
The games promote active ageing, healthy living, and social interaction.
The Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre was buzzing with excitement as senior citizens from the four local municipalities, Ray Nkonyeni, Umzumbe, Umdoni and Umuziwabantu, competed in the Ugu District Golden Games 2026, under the theme ‘Dlala Mtomdala’ recently.
The seniors showed off their energy and sporting talent in various codes, including soccer, duck walk, dress-up, goal shooting, jukskei, brisk walk and pass-the-ball, among others.
The vibrant atmosphere demonstrated that age is no barrier to staying active, healthy and connected.
The games promote active ageing, healthy living and social interaction, while also serving as a platform to select the best-performing participants who will represent Ugu District at the Provincial Golden Games in Durban, from September 9 to 11.
