SPCA impound event gains momentum

Although, there is no space for more people to be 'impounded' – donations and support are still greatly welcome.

The South Coast community has done it again – raising R102 755 for the Lower South Coast SPCA, so far.

Many businessmen and women have thrown their weight behind the ‘Hibiscus Impound’ event to be held at the SPCA’s premises in Uvongo on June 11.

The aim of the game is to stay a night (12 hours) in one of the new kennels which is currently being built at the SPCA.

Although, there is no space for more people to be ‘impounded’ – donations and support are still greatly welcome.

The community is encouraged to help support those ‘impounded’ to meet their fundraising targets – as they have to collect donations, so they can take a mattress, blanket and receive a meal that evening. Their cut-off date is June 10.

All funds raised will go to the running costs of the SPCA.

The SPCA relies solely on the public’s support for its daily operational needs, which entails campaigning for animal welfare, assisting in the prevention of cruelty to animals cases, rehabilitation and finding homes for maltreated and unwanted animals.
