Become a tourist in your own town
This simple act of sharing her beautiful images results in our inbox being flooded with visitors wanting to make accommodation bookings to stay in Mtwalume.
With our glorious winter climate, our ocean teeming with dolphins, whales and more, never mind the accompanying birdlife, now is the time, more than ever before, to become a tourist in your own town.

The KZN South Coast offers the most magical little seaside towns, where you can book a cottage on the beach, eat in incredible restaurants, chose from a variety of beach walks, picnic with fire-flies, visit our beautiful waterfalls and take a dip in the warm ocean.
Imagine that…swimming in the ocean in the middle of winter?

We honestly believe that our favourable winter climate still remains the best-kept secret, and we are engaging with provincial and national tourism associations who are giving us space on their international platforms to tell the beautiful story of the worlds “best-kept secret” holiday destination.
We can all get involved in helping us reach this goal and we must continue to invite friends, especially international friends, to our Southern Explorer KZN Facebook group as well as our Paradise Found Facebook groups.

We love how our Southern Explorer member, Estelle Symcox from RE/MAX Property captures and posts the most exquisite destination photographs of her hometown in Mtwalume.

Another one of our active members who has relocated from Johannesburg to the coast take up full residence in a glorious French beach house are Gert van Zyl and Paul Warner who own the bespoke estate agency Real and Proper T.
It was Paul who taught me about geo tagging and utilising the treasure hunt tool to actively market tourism attractions on the South Coast.

Cancel your annual holiday now, and go visit our website www.thesouthernexplorer.com and become a tourist in your own town, you will be pleasantly surprised.
