Underprivileged benefit from donation of clothes

Non-profit organisation, Food For Life Port Shepstone branch distributed the items to the underprivileged in Marburg and Margate on Youth Day.

Due to a generous donation from a clothing company, non-profit organisation, Food For Life Port Shepstone branch distributed the items to the underprivileged in Marburg and Margate on Youth Day last week.

The local branch is part of the national and global network of Food For Life – the largest vegetarian feeding organisation in the world.

“We cook and feed nutritious hot meals to people at clinics, hospitals, schools and to the underprivileged public at large. Our mission is to eradicate hunger within a 10km radius of each centre,” said Reena Gungadeen, a member of Food For Life Port Shepstone.

The organisation received clothing for males and females of all ages including little children from Wear South African.

“A staff member of the company saw us distributing meals and was impressed by our service to the public and was motivated to assist us,” said Reena.

The clothes were distributed along with hot vegetarian meals.

The organisation is grateful for the donation, as well as sponsorship from companies, the public and generous families.

“We acknowledge all donations, however little or large it may be,” said Reena.
