All roads clear, calls for fake voice notes to stop

Security companies and police urge people not to circulate fake or incorrect messages on WhatsApp groups.

It’s been a quiet weekend, with roads open and clear along the coast this morning.

There are many voice messages being forwarded to WhatsApp groups, the police and the Democratic Alliance  has requested that this stops immediately as it is creating fear among the community.

“I have inundated with various voice notes and messages regarding the alleged shut down and chaos to start up on Monday, July 19. The messages have been redirected to the MEC of Safety and Security,MEC Peggy Nkonyeni as well as the provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi,” said Sharon Hoosen, DA’s KZN spokesman.
