Praying for healing on Mandela Day
Locals also celebrated the day by giving back to the community, especially during this time of need following the unrest.
In celebration of Mandela Day last Sunday, and in the hopes of providing upliftment in Scottburgh and surrounding communities, locals united at Scottburgh main beach for an hour of praise and worship and prayer for the country.
Locals also celebrated the day by giving back to the community, especially during this time of need following the unrest.
A number of individuals, business owners and religious groups handed out food hampers to community members throughout the mid-South Coast including Scottburgh, Park Rynie and Umzinto even before Mandela Day.
Communities expressed gratitude on social media for these generous donations, especially to those at the Scottburgh and Park Rynie mosques who have been providing food to locals for the past several days.
Thanks and prayers were also extended to the civilians who sacrificed their time and risked their lives to help law enforcement protect Scottburgh and Park Rynie from being invaded by looters and protesters.
