Rotarian Shamin takes up presidency

Rotarian of the Year went to John Landless for his valued contribution to the club throughout the year, while Reggie John was the master of ceremonies.

The Rotary Club of Port Shepstone held its induction ceremony on July 1, where Shamin Maharaj was elected as the 2021/22 president.

Shamin will be taking over the reins from past president Noel Coetzee.

Due to the level four lockdown regulations at the time, the ceremony was held via Zoom and was well attended by members, guests and fellow Rotary clubs.

John Landless was named Rotarian of the Year.

As a large and diverse organisation, Rotary provides individuals with the power to help those in need.

Rotarian of the Year went to John Landless for his valued contribution to the club throughout the year, while Reggie John was the master of ceremonies.

While the pandemic and platforms such as Zoom have altered the work of the club over the past year, Rotarians have endeavoured to continue in assisting the community with the resources available.

In line with the Rotary International theme for 2021/22, ‘Serve to change lives,’ Port Shepstone Rotary Club’s focus for the year ahead is youth development, promotion and upkeep of the environment as well as community service.
