Yes, it’s Patrick… and of course it matters

Giving a brief yet concise explanation, Patrick said it was through a friend's suggestion that he try out a casting audition for MTN Uganda.

The name Patrick Tumureebire may not sound familiar to many on the South Coast.

However, those who enjoy relaxing in front of the TV may have seen the Port Shepstone local’s face in some of the more popular ads on prime time television.

The former Port Shepstone High pupil (Class of 2011) has made rounds in TV ads for the likes of coffee company Douwe Egberts, Kellog’s All Granola, VW GTI and Flying Fish to name a few, all of which have been lead roles.

After featuring as a lead in many TV adverts inside and outside of the country, Patrick Tumureebire of Port Shepstone has a lot to smile about.

Other appearances include supporting roles for FNB, Samsung BTS 1 & 2 and MTN Uganda.

Giving a brief yet concise explanation, Patrick said it was through a friend’s suggestion that he try out a casting audition for MTN Uganda.

“I was once asked by a friend from church to cast (audition) for a role for an ad for MTN Uganda. Obviously, I look the part so it was a seamless process thereafter and I managed to book my first TV commercial role in 2018,” Patrick said.

“From there, I sought representation in the industry through both modelling and acting agencies to increase my opportunities. I’ve not looked back since,” he added.

Born in Mthatha, Patrick’s family moved to Port Shepstone when he was just two years old.

Celebrating a toast to what seems like to be a bright future is Patrick Tumureebire along with some friends and family.

He would go on to matriculate as one of Sheppie High’s top scholars in 2011, before going on to further his studies at Wits the following year.

Upon completing his BSc degree in chemical engineering in 2016, he took a gap year and then later completed his masters in Oil and Gas Engineering [MSc (Eng.): Chemical (oil and gas option)] in 2019 at the same institution.

He is currently working for a global drink and brewing company, and describes himself as ‘jack of all trades master of a few’.

Patrick is now living in Johannesburg, and according to the upcoming star, growth is timeless but the passion never changes.

Patrick Tumureebire is looking to achieve new heights as his career in acting and modelling seems to be taking off.

“My first love will always be presenting and hosting, so I’m hoping a presenter gig is in the pipeline. Apart from that, I hope to star in a Netflix series and also co-star in a blockbuster film, working alongside world renowned directors, producers and fellow artists. Our lives are meant to be lived and so that is what I intend to do – live freely, wholly and fully unto God.”
