Lwazi bags another degree
This young and energetic man spoke fondly of his mother, and how losing her affected him.
Well wishes have been pouring in on Lwazi Andrew Gwacela‘s Facebook page after he posted his epic journey on being admitted as an attorney of the high court.
Gwacela (29) hails from the dusty streets of Mvutshini, KwaMankutshane near Margate.
He was admitted as an attorney of the Pietemaritzburg High Court recently.

Gwacele attended Bashise Primary and matriculated at Mlonde High in 2010.
He furthered his studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg campus where he obtained his first degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
He then pursued his LLB Bachelor of Law at the same institution.
This young and energetic man spoke fondly of his mother, and how losing her affected him.
He had a very good relationship with his mother and he shared how much she supported him when he was growing up, and also introduced him to lawyers.
“My mom worked as a domestic worker in flats in Margate. She would meet people and tell them about my passion of becoming a lawyer, she would even introduce me to them.”
His mother died in 2019, in the final year of his law degree.
“It would be great if she was still alive. Part of me feels as if she is watching over me and she is proud and happy”
Gwacela will be joining Nkosinathi Gobhozi and Associates.
He thanked Kooben Chetty who approached him while he was completing his final year in political science and offered him a job.
He also mentioned Mr Gobhozi for playing a big role in his life. Gwacela is well-known in Mvutshini as he was very involved in community projects while growing up.
In 2008, he was the chairperson of the Congress of South African Students (Cosas).
He had started an NPO but could not sustain it as he had to move away to further his studies.
