Burst water pipe damages Sea Park property
The workers returned the next day and the water was turned off later that afternoon.
Ugu District Municipality has confirmed that repairs to a burst water pipeline in Henry Avenue, Seapark has been completed.
The Herald was alerted to the incident last week Thursday by home owner Bev Koekemoer, as the water spewing out of the pipe had caused extensive damage to the boundary, as well as inside her property.

She alerted Ugu to the incident in the early hours of last Wednesday. She received a reference number and repairmen arrived at about 10am.
“They waited for a TLB which only arrived at about 2pm. They dug up the area, however were unable to locate the valves to turn off the water, and left about 7pm,” said Bev.
“We had to use sandbags to divert the water away from my house,” she added.
The workers returned the next day and the water was turned off later that afternoon.
The water uprooted a large macadamia tree and caused extensive soil erosion. Sand also washed into the properties next to the Koekemoers.

Repairs to rectify the damage is expected to start this week.
According to Ugu spokesman France Zama, the municipality has finalised allocation of a service provider to start repairs, subject to all material procurement.
