Word on the street: A message for World Suicide Prevention Day

Umzinto writer, Trisha Singh, shares encouraging words.

Your story isn’t over

Put down those pills, knives and ropes

Please listen, there is still hope.

Your pain is not unseen, There’s always a friend you can lean on.

Talk, vent or scream

But do not walk this road alone.

Some days you might cry and on others you might try…

On both days you matter,

You’re important and you’re loved.

You see bruises I see beauty…of a story untold.

It’s okay if all you did today was breathe.

Tomorrow needs you.

You have the power to say ” This is not how my story will end”.
