Motorist shot on N2 freeway near Park Rynie

Police confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries.

A motorist (45) who was travelling on the N2 freeway north bound near Park Rynie was shot by an unknown gunman in a vehicle which overtook him yesterday afternoon, September 21, at 16:15.

The victim then lost control of his vehicle which then veered off the road and overturned.

Scottburgh Saps responded to the shooting incident and the victim was taken to hospital by paramedics.

Police confirmed that the victim succumbed to his injuries and that a post mortem will be conducted at Park Rynie Medico Legal Mortuary.

Detective Sergeant Weidon Govender of Scottburgh Detective Service is investigating the murder and can be contacted on 039 9781900 should anyone have information which may assist in solving this case.
