Bruce continues to flourish in film industry

In order to develop himself in the industry while helping other locals make their mark, Bruce has also started doing acting workshops at his movie studio.

Scottburgh local Bruce Gounder has always been passionate about the film and entertainment industry, and this is evidently shown as he continues to progress as an actor and producer each day.

He recently attended the Ugu Film Festival in Margate where he picked up many tricks of the trade and received a Patron of the Arts award for his dedication to the arts and culture field.

Bruce Gounder is ready to film his new talk show.

“The best part about it all was getting to meet other interesting people in the industry who are as passionate and committed as I am,” he said.

Gounder mentioned that the good news and opportunities have kept rolling in for him recently and this week, a movie titled Married And Loving It, where he plays a villain on screen, will be premiering at Northgate Shopping Centre’s cinema in Gauteng on Thursday (30th).

“The movie is a faith-based drama which has actually been produced by a pastor,” said Gounder.

“It shows the pros and cons of marriage and my character is a computer hacker who causes trouble for everyone.”

“What I enjoyed most about being on this film is sharing screen space with actors from Zimbabwe, Ghana, Tanzania and best of all, working with Nigerian actor Zack Orji who I believe is one of the greatest actors in Africa.”

In order to develop himself in the industry while helping other locals make their mark, Bruce has also started doing acting workshops at his movie studio.

He recently had many locals, especially youth from the Mtwalume area, come to him for acting classes.

“We’ve been having lots of fun doing these classes and we are currently working on a drama series in isiZulu which we may end up pitching for television in the near future,” he said.

“Simply by sharing my progress through social media or via the media has helped motivate people in the community and that’s why I like to help people who have an interest in this industry – so that they may be able to create a buzz in this town and name for themselves and grow like I have.”

Gounder also mentioned that he is in the process of starting an exciting talk show called Chit Chat with Bruce Gounder where he interviews interesting personalities.
