Tuning In: Kitefest was a blast

Children and adults alike put their flying skills to the test, with all kinds of kites, bought and homemade, being launched heavenwards – sometimes making spectacular dives onto the ground.

Woodcrest Academy’s first annual Heritage Day Kitefest took to the skies last Friday (24th). Children and adults alike put their flying skills to the test, with all kinds of kites, bought and homemade, being launched heavenwards – sometimes making spectacular dives onto the ground. Moms and tots, dads and lads strutted their stuff in their heritage garb and there were scrumptious heritage treats for all to buy. This proved to be a successful day of kite flying, Uni-mogging, music and food. A special thanks to all the sponsors who contributed to the success of the event.

Congratulations to newly-weds Tanya Towell and Trevor Campbell. Tanya and Trevor popped in for a sangria at Enzo’s in Scottburgh after the wedding. Unique indeed and wonderfully local.

I know that the community will join me in sending heartfelt condolences to Fred Roebuck and family on the passing of Jenny. May she rest in peace.
