LATEST WATER UPDATE: Ugu says areas are expected to get water supply soon

Part of Protea Park that feeds from the tower is expected to also recover today.

Ugu District Municipal spokesman France Zama gave the latest update from their water services department regarding water supply in the coastal line:
 
●The Boboyi plant is back to full capacity after loadshedding was halted. The plant is expected to reach 60 percent around midday where flow from Umtentweni towards the north will be restored gradually.
 
● Woodgrange, Mistake farm and  Hibberdene are also expected to recover later today when uMzimkulu Reservoir gradually climbs.
 
●Parts of Protea Park that feeds from the tower is expected to also recover today.
 
●The Marburg area was affected by breaks, as well as loadshedding, hence prolonged interruption. Repairs are estimated to be completed by this afternoon, and the reservoir to start filling up at night. Full restoration is expected tomorrow morning.
 
●Murchison reservoir is also affected by this.
 
●Gamalakhe: Restoration is expected to start later today, areas like 4 ROOMS and White City are likely to start getting water tomorrow.
 
●Shelly Beach: Shelly beach has been restored.
 
●Uvongo reservoir is sitting around 50 percent, affected by bulk supply challenges. This particular reservoir is expected to stabilise as the day goes by.
 
●Margate: 2A feeding Hibiscus Mall area is low, but filling up gradually . Ext 3 affected by a break on the line to the tower, estimated to be completed by this afternoon with restoration expected by tomorrow morning.
 
● Nositha lower part is still affected by on and off pumping. Upper Nositha eMbhoshongweni is still battling due to rife illegal connections.
 
● Ramsgate : North is sitting at 50 percent while the South reservoir is below 10 percent due to bulk supply interruption. This is also expected to gradually recover with low lying streets getting water early tomorrow.
 
“The Ugu District Municipality would like to apologise to all affected customers. Rest assured, our water services teams department is working hard to restore supply to affected areas,” said Mr Zama.
