Tuning In: Hospice gives and receives help
Hospice has been donating many wheelchairs to its patients and when there is no longer any use for it, these are returned to hospice and passed onto other patients in need.
Rani Abdulla from New Haven in Umkomaas is a great Khanya Hospice supporter, but has been on the receiving end, for a change. She is a community worker who has a heart for helping people and recently visited hospice. Rani is always helping people around her, and was in need of food hampers and blankets for various folk. Khanya Hospice came to her rescue, providing her with some supplies, and she left a very happy woman.

CEO of Khanya Hospice, Neil McDonald said that while hospice does not have money to go out and buy food (preferring to purchase medication, pain killers and adult nappies) that hospice does give to people if it has the means at the time. So, when people donate food, hospice is able to make up food parcels and distribute to the vulnerable and needy.
A big thank you goes out to the Rotary Club of Reservoir Hills which donated three wheelchairs to hospice. Rotarian, Charlie Panday, has been instrumental for years getting donations of medical equipment from abroad to be distributed amongst NGOs, Rotary clubs and the needy.

Khanya Hospice plans on hosting a one-day caregivers course as a fundraiser, and is looking for a sponsor for this.
This is what needs to be sponsored: printing, compiling of notes, printing of certificates, teas and coffees and something to eat for tea time, lunch and afternoon tea, for about 15 people.
