#Imademymark – Families and first-time voters make their mark
The Herald took to the streets to ask the residents of Margate how their voting experience went today.
The general talk on the street is that people want the government of the day to deliver basic services. Here is what the voters said at a voting station in Margate.

Bulelwa Nqambi:
It was very exciting. This government will renew everything now. They will look after people and will give them a better life. Also, look after our youth with regards to unemployment and everything else.

Bongi Nxymalo:
Everyone was very friendly, and it was great experience and very exciting!

Bheki Hlongwa
I’ve been voting since 1994, and I vote as I wanted my party to win.

Steven and Heather Frost
We are hoping the party we vote for will upgrade the area by sorting out the potholes and water problems.

Philile Moni and his son, Philasande
Our voting experience went well. We have come to vote and put pressure of the current government to deliver their mandate to the people. For his son, Philasande (20) it was his first time, and he admits that he had the ‘first time voting’ jitters.

Edith Button
Voting for better service and change!

Dillon Harwood
It went very well. Everyone is very friendly and polite. There was a lekker vibe! I’m voting for peace in SA, and a positive future for all.

Gina Coxen:
I’m a first time voter! If you don’t vote you can’t complain. Every vote counts.
